Anna Bates is a maker and mixed media artist with a passion for sustainability and retro aesthetic’s . I specialise in recycled lampshades, and transforms discarded materials into unique, handcrafted lighting pieces that blend vintage charm with contemporary design. My creative practice extends beyond lampshades, incorporating printmaking, textiles, and experimental surface design techniques.
Drawing inspiration from mid-century patterns, Art Deco influences, and found objects, I enjoy deconstructing and reimagining materials to give them a new lease of life. My work often explores the relationship between texture, form, and nostalgia, resulting in pieces that feel both familiar and refreshingly original.
