Mixed Media Artist

I am led by materials to build up layers and layers, trying things to see what happens, going with my instinct; gradually the form of the work appears. With watercolours, it’s the same kind of process but with all materials, for me it’s always about colours and nuance; the chance happening. I don’t confine myself to any particular idea, I flit between things that take my fancy.

When asked to talk about her work, the artist Elizabeth Blackadder said “they are just the paintings”. That sums it up for me too.
