About Haarlem Studios
Haarlem Studios provides dedicated studios and workspaces for creative practitioners and businesses at Haarlem Mill in Wirksworth, Derbyshire.
Our spaces are home to a diverse mix of people working across the creative industries, from artists and makers to designers, independent businesses and other creative practitioners. The studios offer a place to work, develop ideas and establish a longer-term base, alongside opportunities to connect with a wider community of people working creatively.
Studio holders work independently, while the wider Haarlem Studios community creates opportunities for exchange, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge, ideas and resources. We value the different perspectives and approaches that come together within the building and the relationships that develop through being part of a shared working environment.
Haarlem Studios is part of the wider creative ecology of Wirksworth and maintains connections with artists, creative practitioners, businesses and organisations locally, nationally and internationally. Alongside providing dedicated workspace, the studios support opportunities for people to develop their practices, businesses and professional networks.
The studios provide space for creative practitioners and businesses to work and develop, while the gallery creates opportunities for contemporary art to be presented, explored and experienced by wider audiences. Together, they form a connected creative environment spanning working space, artistic development and public programming.
Based at a historic former textile mill, Haarlem Studios offers more than a place to work. It is an established community of creative practitioners and businesses, providing the space, connections and environment in which creative work can develop over time.
