Elin Rossiter

Elin Rossiter, working under the name Your Best Friend in Paint, is a portrait artist based at Haarlem Mill. Working predominantly in acrylic, she creates vibrant portraits that seek to capture not simply the appearance of her subjects but their character and personality. Her work celebrates the relationships and affection shared between people and their animals, using a bold colour palette and an expressive approach to light and shade to bring a sense of warmth and individuality to each portrait.

Alongside portraiture, Elin is expanding her practice into illustration, experimenting with mixed media on paper and observational studies. This developing strand of her work allows her to explore different approaches to drawing, colour and image-making, while retaining the lively, accessible quality that characterises her portrait work. She also undertakes commissioned portraits of people and pets.
