Ian Foulds

Ian Foulds is a software developer and integration specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in the IT sector. Through X.act Systems, which he established in 1992, he provides website hosting, software development and IT consultancy to small and medium-sized businesses in the East Midlands. His career spans the evolution of computing from punched tape through to today’s web-based technologies.

Away from technology, Ian is a longstanding percussionist and musical director of Beat Wirks, a community samba-reggae group based in Wirksworth. Since 2015 he has helped develop the group’s understanding and practice of Brazilian percussion, rhythms and musical traditions, bringing together his interest in music with a strong sense of community and collaboration.
