Sarah Armstrong

Sarah Armstrong’s practice explores abstracted and unexpected elements within rural and urban landscapes, focusing on the small intricacies that invite us to look more closely and question our immediate and wider surroundings. Working across drawing, painting, ritual performance and altar building, her work often has a cyclical quality, weaving connections between past, present and future.

A former Fine Art and Graphic Design lecturer, Sarah left teaching in 2022 to focus on gallery management at Haarlem Artspace and the further development of her own practice. She is a director of Haarlem Artspace, where her roles as artist, curator and arts professional come together through her commitment to developing a vibrant and supportive creative community.
