Peter Knight
Peter Knight is a painter and printmaker whose practice explores landscape and memory through a variety of media and the physicality of the handmade mark. Working primarily from his studio at Haarlem Artspace, he creates paintings in which spaces become layered with signs, codes, rhythms and pulses, translating experiences of place into atmospheric and often abstracted images.
Alongside painting, Knight is an intaglio printmaker and makes artists’ books incorporating letterpress at the Common Press in Crich, where he lives. His practice moves between different forms of print, painting and bookmaking, using the material qualities of each medium to investigate how landscape, memory and place can be recorded, transformed and reimagined.
